Athirapally waterfalls in Chalakudy river will never dries out and can be visited yearlong. There is sholayar Hydroelectric project and a regular flow of water anytime in the year. If you are visiting in Summer you can take bath, go to the bottom of the falls and take photos etc.

In Monsoon times, the waterfalls appears in its full glory, with best views, but you are not allowed to go closer to waterfalls because of heavy rain and over flow of water in the river. Best time to visit Athirapally is from the beginning of Monsoon season, Jun to end of January

Athirappilly Falls is situated in Athirappilly panchayat in Thrissur district of Kerala, on the southwest coast of India. Located on the west-flowing Chalakudy River near the Vazhachal Forest Division and the Sholayar ranges, this 80 ft waterfall and the nearby Vazhachal Falls are popular tourist destinations.
Vazhachal Falls is a rushing watercourse in the Chalakkudy River in the Thrissur district of Kerala, South India. It is located 36km from Chalakkudi and 5km from Athirappilly Falls.
