1 Night 2 Days Athirapally - Valparai Tour


This Athirapally -Valparai trip is of two days and one-night duration. Designed exclusively for tourists by Tripenticer team. On the first day, you are driven to Valparai which is 4-hour journey approximately from the pick-up point. The pick-up points usually preferred are Chalakudy railway station, Cochin Airport, Thrissur etc. After reaching Valparai town, you can enjoy Sholayar Dam, largest and longest dam and Nallamudi Poonjolai, a famous viewpoint known for its mountains amidst waterfalls. Overnight stay is arranged in Valparai according to the itinerary preferred. On the second day, other destinations such as Malakkapara, Athirapally, Thumboormuzhy Dam, Elephant lake etc as mentioned in the itinerary will be covered. Day 01:- Chalakudy - Valparai

Thumboormuzhy Dam & Riverside Garden, with the facility of natural river bath. It is an eco-fragile area with a lot of activities. It has basically a check dam. This part of the river is most suitable for bath. It has a beautiful mountain view of eye-catching. Kerala's no-1 Butterfly garden is in Thumboormuzhy, it is a photo point for honeymooners, serials etc . The opposite Side is Ezhattumugham


Hanging Bridge in Thumboormuzhy

Hanging Bridge is across Chalakudy river connecting 2 sides Thumboormuzhy and Ezhattumugham picnic spots. . It offers a panoramic view. it is really an experience you have to enjoy. Now a days, it is has stopped for some official reasons. We hope it is going to be opened for the tourists soon. There were pedal boats as well as speed boats available. It offers an eye catching senic area of the hydel reservoirs with rare varieties of birds- flora and fauna.

We are going to the forest area under Malakkappara is maintained by the Kerala Forest Department.it is TATA tea estate mainly, this area hosts some rare and endangered species of flora and fauna. Malakkappara lies on the border of Kerala and Tamil Nadu states.this 40 Kms jungle safari is thrilling and amazing. There are several small waterfalls and natural spots where one would want to make a stoppage. This area is scenic and photographic. We can see the wildlife such as monkeys, wild elephants and leopards.

Valparai Hill station & Check in Hotel/ Resort

Valparai is located above 3,500 feet from the sea level on the Anamalai mountain range of Western ghats. Valparai is a wide Green Spread Mountains and forest with tea plantations and a small town. Day 02 :- Sholyar Dam- Athirapally- Chalakudy / Cochin Airport

Move to Upper Sholayar Dam which is situated in Tamilnadu, close to Kerala border. Sholayar Hydro-electric project has two reservoirs.This upper sholayar reservoir is accessible to tourists. It offers a panoramic view of Western ghats.

Vazhachal Waterfalls

Visit Vazhachal falls, it is beautiful in the landscape. Vazhachal is just 5 km only from Athirapally falls. Vazhachal is the area of ecotourism. Guests can walk around 1 km through the banks of the River, Lifeguards of the Tribal community takes care of the security. A shop of rare tribal products is working there.

Charpa Falls

Charpa Falls lies east of Athirappilly and is between Athirapally falls and Vazhachal falls, it is seasonal, as summer starts to appear, it starts to disappear. it is a monsoon fall. Charpa falls is wonderful with a deafening roar at right on the road. It is a sight to watch and enjoy though it is least known. Be ready to get drenched if you are visiting it in the rainy season
