Itinerary




Day 01 :- Beach & Pilgrimage 

Kauthukapark, a park with difference created by Mr Varky veliyath. It a unique one in its kind. It is a must see destinaion , in ones life. How far a man can go with nature , flora and founa. Here we study the peaceful co existence of humans with the nature in its true ambiguity.  It is wonderful place to visit


Azhikode fisherman village
Azhikode fisherman village is well connected by a series of canals. The famous Kodungallur Bhagavathy temple and Cheraman Juma Masjid is around 10 KM away from this place at kodungallur town. Fishing and tourism are the main sources of revenue in this region. Traditional boats are still used for fishing in this area. Chinese fishing nets are still deployed for fishing here . This region also has abundant cultivation of coconut. Shrimp cultivation is another major industry that contributes to the economy in this region.

Munakkal Beach- Azhikode- Kodungallur
Visit to St Thomas Shrine – Boating optional, Azhimugham Sea sight where river meets sea. Munakkal beach has got the vast shore stretch around 3 km along the main beach side.It is the main attraction of this village. Tourists can sit in the mystical shores for hours and view your own life like a spectator. The golden shore is a quiet and sandy expanse. Its beaches are a natural beauty and is now very famous for its Beach Park called "Munakkal Beach Park”. Kodungallur- Azhicode Munakkal beach is big and beautiful but swimming & water sports are is not recommended.

St. Thomas Shrine
Move to Kodungalloor--the shrine where - St. Thomas, the apostle, landed on Nov. 21, 52 A.D. at Kodungallur, Thomas the Apostle, also called Doubting Thomas or Didymus (meaning "Twin"), was one of the Twelve Apostles of Jesus. He is best known for disbelieving Jesus' resurrection when first told of it, then proclaiming "My Lord and my God" on seeing Jesus in John 20:28. He was perhaps the only. Apostle who went outside the Roman Empire to preach the Gospel. He also crossed the largest area, which includes the Persian Empire and India.


Kodungallur Bhagavathy Temple
Boating at Azhimugham where river meets sea.There is a boating facility available from St thomas shrine to Azhimugham where river meets sea. It covers Azhicode fishing Harbour too.Optional visit to Bhagavathy Temple Kodungallooor & Cheraman Juma masjid at kodungallur.

Day 02 :- Trekking In the Rain Forest
The most natural way of exploring the majestic beauty of Sholyar ranges of Western ghats is trekking. Trekking infuses a feeling of closeness and friendship that exists with nature. Trekking through the rain forests is a wonderful experience desires  As we have limited time , you can trek through the road in the forest for 1 or 2 Kms to get that wonderful experience. In Malakkappara also a short  trekking is possible through the tea estate.

Poringalkuth Hydel Tourism ( if get permission)
Dams or  hydel reservoirs of Kerala proving to be a big draw for tourists, Poringalkuth was opened for tourists. Boating facility was also provided. Now a days, it is has stopped for some official reasons. We hope it is going to be opened for the tourists soon. There were pedal boats as well as speed boats  available. It offers an eyecatching senic area of the hydel reservoirs with rare varieties of birds- flora and fauna.


Elephant pit
Elephants comes in group to drink and bath, it is an eye catching sight. So there are chance to see wilsd animals here., not gurenteed. it is scenic place too .The jungle safari is through the rainforests of Sholayar ranges of western ghats.

Malakkappara Tea & coffee estate                      
We are going to the forest area under Malakkappara is maintained by the Kerala Forest Department.it is TATA tea estate mainly, this area hosts  some rare and endangered species of flora and fauna.. Malakkappara lies on the border of Kerala and Tamil Nadu states.this 40 Kms jungle safari is thrilling and amazing. There are several small waterfalls and natural spots where one would want to make a stoppage. This area is scenic and photographic and the virginity of the hillstaion, beckons the traveler into its fold. An encounter with the wildlife such as monkeys, wild elephants and leopards are a a natural phenomenon in the area.


Day 03 :- Athirapally & Vazhachal water falls
Vist Vazhachal falls, it is beautiful in landscape. Vazhachal is just 5 kms only from Athirapally falls. Vazhachal is the area of ecotourism. 
Guests can walk around 1 kms through the bunks of the River, life gurds of Tribal community takes care of the security. 
A shop of rare tribal products is working there.


Charpa falls
Charpa falls lies east of athirappilly and is between Athirapally falls and Vazhachal falls, it is seasonal, as summer starts to appear, it starts to disappear . it is a monsoon falls.  Charpa falls is wonderful with a deafening roar at right on the road. It is a sight to watch and enjoy though it is least known. Be ready to get drenched if you are visiting it in the rainy season


Thumboormuzhy Dam, View point, , Riverside garden, Natural bath, butterfly garden
The most beautiful garden  with a Cildrens park, Riverside garden with facility of natural river bath. It is an Eco fragile area with a lot of activities. It has basically a check dam,> This part of the river is most suitable for bath . It has a beautiful mountain view of eye catching.   
Kerala's no-1 Butterfly garden is in Thumboormuzhy, it is a photo point for honeymooners, serials etc - Rest of the day is free.

Hanging Bridge
Hanging bridge is one of the main attraction in Thumboormuzhy destination. it is Built across Chalakudy river which hosts Athirapally and Vazhachal falls. if offeres a panoramic view of ecofragile thumboormuzhy ecotourist spot.
Butterfy park in Thumboormuzhy 
Thumboormuzhy Butterflypark is growing to be one of the important eco-tourism attractions in Chalakudy- Athirapally Ecotourism. A visit to Athirapally will be completed only with a visit to Thumboormuzhy. It is astonishing that Thumboormuzhy attracts more tourists than Athirapally. Athirappilly Falls is situated in Athirappilly panchayath in Thrissur district of Kerala, on the southwest coast of India. Located on the west-flowing Chalakudy River near the Vazhachal Forest Division and the Sholayar ranges, this 80 ft waterfall and the nearby Vazhachal Falls are popular tourist destinations.
 
Vazhachal Falls is a rushing watercourse in the Chalakkudy River in the Thrissur district of KeralaSouth India. It is located 36km from Chalakkudi and 5km from Athirappilly Falls
 
There is a  construction of a weir atThumboormuzhi across the Chalakudy river and diverting the water for Irrigation purpose.stage I of the scheme comprising a weir at Thumboormuzhi across Chalakudy river and a part of the canal system was commissioned in 1957 and stage II was commissioned in 1966.
 
Charpa Falls is one of the scenic locations in Thrissur. Situated close to the Athirappilly Falls (60 km from Thrissur), the waterfall is a part of River Chalakkudy. During monsoon months (June to August) it plunges on to the road.
 
 
Poringalkuthu Hydel Tourism has much in store for the visitors. One can enjoy a nice view of the Dam and the adjoining areas part from the other amenities facilitated there.
